review

The centre of Brighton was once again overtaken with stiltwalking gorillas, samba bands, burlesque dancers, bouncing acrobats, stalls, stages and lots and lots of people... Fringe City returns for its second year.

This year, for the first time, Fringe City takes place over three Saturdays in May instead of just a single afternoon. It provides the perfect opportunity to sample some of the best shows in the festival. It's a free event and many of the artists come along to perform and interact... and to hand out lots and lots of flyers (it's so hard to say no!).

It's difficult to see more than a handful of things during the day because many of the performances are on at once - but if you're planning on popping down then you can pick up a map and schedule from the information point before you start... or, as most people do, just wander through the streets and see what's going on - there's almost certain to be something to entertain you.
