Sunday Sundae 2008 Season launch...
review Oooh! Aaah! It turns out that Terraces is a very cool place for a party, and we're extremely pleased that Sunday Sundae has secured the venue for this season of weekend terrace clubbing. For many of us it was the first time we'd set foot in the place - even though it has been on the gay horizon since the redevelopment of the land a few years back. It's a lovely place, nicely fitted out and... it transpires... a great layout for a two floor event. Tonight's opening night offered us bubbly and nibbles up in the lounge where we enjoyed the amazing view of the sunset over the pier. Dragging ourselves away from the conversation upstairs, the night was well under way at the foot of the spiral staircase... DJ Diablo was on the decks, joined by Kate Wildblood and Richard Jones throughout the night and playing us tunes and music that really help set Sunday Sundae apart from other clubnights. Some fantastic mixes of tunes that have all but forgotten, and some surprising mixes of new stuff too - putting smiles on lots of faces throughout the evning. Although it was pretty grim outside the potential of this venue to really shine was completely apparent to everyone here tonight. As the night wore on more and more people were falling in love with the night - with smokers even feeling like part of the party out on the extensive terrace. I'm glad I live in Brighton when things like this turn up. I'm sure it wasn't easy to persuade a restaurant to clear out once a week for a gaggle of gays to descend upon it, but it's a stroke of genius that I'm sure will be well worthwhile!
loved it! Who'd have thought? Great venue, lovely atmosphere, the music was fun and the terraces will really rock once the better weather finally comes.
