community newsOur Man in the Marathon!Tuesday, 13 April 2010 You'll have found it hard to miss that Brighton is about to be closed for the day this Sunday 18th April! Running a marathon is, in case you wondered, no mean feat. Yes, Eddie Izzard may have run 623 in 8 days, or whatever, but he had a dedicated team of people keeping him in tip-top condition throughout his trial. The rest of us have to train carefully and methodically over a period of months and hope and pray not to get an injury that stops us from running on the big day itself... REALBrighton's senior technician, Timmy, will be taking to the streets on Sunday to pound out 26 miles (and then some) in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind... If you haven't thrown some money at someone doing the marathon this weekend, or if you've got a couple of quid more you could throw - then his cause needs little in the way of explanation and it's really easy to donate online through his JustGiving page. Guide dogs can transform a blind person's life. Simple. And you'll be helping put a spring in Tim's step too! Good luck Tim! We'll be shouting for you!
