The Great Bulldog Balloon Race
Balloon race to be held in aid of Sussex Beacon

The Great Bulldog Balloon Race

Friday, 7 July 2006

The Bulldog boys are holding a very special event on Saturday 5th August to take place on Brighton Beach next to the Pier. As the Pride Parade starts from Madeira Drive, hundreds of balloons will be released into the air at the start of the Great Bulldog Balloon Race.

In aid of The Sussex Beacon, the Balloon Race is open for everyone to take part in and you could win a massive £500 in cash if your balloon travels the furthest.

To take part, all you have to do is register - and you can do this a number of ways. Simply visit the Sussex Beacon shop or Bulldog in St James Street and pay in cash, or visit www.bulldogbrighton.com with your credit card details. Alternatively, simply use your mobile phone, and text "GL BALLOON [YOUR NAME HERE]" to 87070.

Cash and credit card registrations cost £2 with the full amount going to The Sussex Beacon. Texts cost £1.50 with £1.14 going to the Beacon.

Two weeks after the balloons are released, the balloon reported to have travelled the furthest distance will win.

This is one fun race where no effort is required - so go on and have a go. You've got to be in it to win it!

The balloons and name-tags are biodegradable and no string or plastic valves are used.
