Amsterdam Hotel, a gay and lesbian establishment, stands unashamedly on the seafront with remarkable views of Brighton Pier and the beach. The rooms have been designed and finished to a high standard in a contemporary style. All rooms boast a wet-room style shower with room enough for a party. The front rooms have great views and if you're lucky enough to bag the first floor front room you'll even have your own balcony to look out onto the famous Amsterdam Terrrace. Big, fluffy towels, complimentary toiletries and comfy beds means this a hotel often booked in advance by both leisure and business travellers to the city. The impressive facilities and the warm welcome have earned The Amsterdam Three Diamonds by the RAC – one of only a handful of gay hotels to achieve this.
In terms of location, you really can’t get much better for Brighton’s thriving gay nightlife with many gay and gay-friendly venues within a very short walk (or stagger!), including, of course, Amsterdam Bar & Bistro, open extra-late for residents, and Amsterdam Sauna. When the sun is out, no place is more packed with flesh than Amsterdam’s Bar Terrace, and the bar often has entertainment laid on throughout the week.
Continental Breakfast, in keeping with the name, is served between 8.30am and 10am, but if you fancy a bit of a lie-in, then the Bar & Bistro offer residents a special price for a Full English. Alternatively, peruse the menu for a delicious range of dishes.
